Haunted History: Key West now on YouTube

In late 1999 I received a call from a production company working on a show about ghosts in Key West. Back then it was a huge deal to appear in a show on The History Channel, and I jumped at the opportunity. I was the only ghost tour in Key West at the time, and Ghosts of Key West was published less than a year before.

Ghost stories in the Key West episode included The Audubon House, Fort Zachary Taylor, La Concha Hotel, Dean Lopez Funeral Home and the story of Elena Hoyos and Count von Cosel.

The show has a lot of familiar faces, too. Frank Everhart played a big part in the production and casting, and the show captures some still living Key West characters like Jim and Jennifer Dean, Tom Greenwood, and Ben Harrison, as well as some great people who have passed on including Tom Hambright, General Geoff Chapman, and Jerry Miller as the ghost of Ernest Hemingway.

There are several more, but you’ll have to check it out for yourself. The show was produced by Graystone Productions and directed by Joshua Alper.
